On October 26th, popular idol group AKB48 released their latest single "Kaze wa Fuiteiru" which is the support song for the recovery from the Tohoku earthquake, and the single sold 1,045,937 copies on the first day!

With their previous single "Flying Get" selling 1,025,952 copies on its release day (accumulative�sales: 1,570,000 copies), �this means the girls had two consecutive singles that sold over a million copies on the release day. �Moreover, the first day sales of "Kaze wa Fuiteiru" surpassed the previous single by 20,000 copies, therefore AKB48 has surpassed their own record.

This is AKB48 fourth consecutive single (fifth single in total) to sell over a million copies, and all the singles that they released this year has reached over a million copies.
