The Recording Industry Association of Japan (or �RIAJ� for short), has just released the digital recording sales certifications that were achieved within the month of September.

In order to be able to announce the certifications, the RIAJ works together with almost all of the digital and mobile download portals in Japan, including recochoku, music.jp, mu-mo (Avex), oricon ME, dwango and many more. Totalizing the data from all those major download portals, the RIAJ then release the new certifications on the 20th of every month.

For the RIAJ, the thresholds for digital (online and mobile) certifications are as follows:
Gold - 100,000 downloads, Platinum - 250,000 downloads, Double Platinum 500,000 downloads, Triple Platinum 750,000 downloads, and Million - 1,000,000+ downloads.
