On the October 3rd release of the 43rd issue of �Weekly Shonen Jump�, it was announced that basketball manga �Kuroko no Basket� will be adapted into an anime series under the animation company Production I.G. The broadcast dates will be announced at a later date.

�Kuroko no Basket� is a series that begun its serialization in this same magazine back in February 2009 and has sold total of approximately 5 million copies as of now. This manga follows a story of high school student Kagami Taiga that just came back from the United States and meets a low-profile boy named Kuroko Tetsuya and together, they challenge members of �Generation of Miracles� to bring their high school basketball team as Japan�s number one.

Fujimaki Tadatoshi, the author of this series, stated regarding the anime adaptation, �I am thoroughly excited of this. 'I am so restless so I hope they hurry up and begin!' kind of thing,� and displayed his excitement of this adaptation.
