Actor Sato Ryuta and actress Dan Rei became the recipients of the"The 12th Best Formalist" award, a distinction created in 2000 with the hopes of spreading the concept of formal wear to the general public. Every year, the awards select one male and one female to receive the honors.
On October 25th, Sato and Dan dressed to the nines as they arrived in Tokyo to accept the awards. Sporting a respectable tuxedo and a glamorous purple gown, the tworecipients entered the room with Sato escorting
Sato commented, "I was so excited that I would get to wear a tuxedo, so I was smiling the whole day". Dan complimented her escort by saying, "He has a very casual image, but I think it's wonderful that we get to see a different manly side to him".
Afterwards, the stars expressed their feelings of gratitude on receiving the award. "I am so honored and ecstatic to be receiving this award. I'm still inexperienced with formal wear so I'd like to get a lot of advice," said Sato. Dan simply stated, "As a woman, I am thankful from the bottom of my heart".
