It's been revealed that actor/singer Takeda Tetsuya (62) underwent an operation for aortic stenosis on October 21st, and is currently recuperating from the procedure.
The announcement was made by Universal Music and his agency via fax. Reportedly, Takeda was born with a bicuspid aortic valve, meaning that instead of three valves in the heart (which allow blood to pass through), Takeda was born with two. Doctors discovered that he was showing signs of stenosis (abnormal narrowing of an artery), and so it was decided that he should undergo surgery.
Takeda received an aortic valve replacement on the 21st, and the surgery was deemed as a success. Though he is still being hospitalized, he will be discharged from the hospital in thebeginningof November, after his rehabilitation.
Let's wish him a speedy recovery!
