Child actress Ashida Mana is known for her charming smile, but she'll have to hold it back for her upcoming role in the second "Liar Game" movie.

The new "Liar Game" movie was announced last month, along with the surprising news that Toda Erika would not be reprising her role. Instead, Tabe Mikako would be starring as a new heroine next to Matsuda Shota.

Ashida is going to be added to the cast as the young and incredibly intelligent 'Alice', who is the youngest member of 'Liar Game Tournament Office'. She manages the main game of the new movie, the infamous musical chairs, which is said to be one of the fan favorites from the manga.

The announcement revealed, "With Mana-chan hiding her trademark smile and trying to trick the players into failing the game, there is going to be a new feeling of tension that hasn't been experienced in the series before."

It won't be the lack of a smile alone that will transform Ashida into a mysterious little girl -- the child actress will also be delivering a different tone and more mature movements. The production team is already praising her a lot for her incredible performance.

Ashida herself commented in a sweet and childish way, "The set is so pretty with all the sparkling things, but it's also a bit scary!" She continued, "It was difficult not to move my eyes and my body too much. I wanted to try and put on the cool outfit as soon as possible. When I got to wear it for the first time, I became all excited and wanted to start the filming right away. We are still filming and I will try my best until the end."



As for main lead Matsuda, she commented, "After it was decided that I would appear in this movie, I immediately watched all of the 'Liar Game' DVDs. When I met Matsuda for the first time, I was like, 'You are Akiyama Shinichi!!' He's so cool and so kind. I'm really glad that I'm able to work together with him." She continued with a comment about Tabe, "I've seen many of her dramas and I was looking forward to work together with her, although it's sad that we're basically playing rivals in the movie."

Matsuda himself admitted that he already is completely under the charm of Ashida, while Tabe commented, "Even from her ordinary actions, you can totally feel that she's an actress."

"Liar Game -Saisei-" is scheduled to open in Japan on March 3rd, 2012.
