It's been revealed that comedian Itao Itsuji will novelize his film, "Gekko no Kamen", thus making his debut as a published novelist.

Itao is the author of the "Itao Diary" series, which describes his day-to-day life, but this will be the first time his novel will be published. �Itao wrote the script himself after being inspired by the classic 'rakugo' story "Sokotsu Nagaya". The fantasy mystery revolves around a wounded man with amnesia, who returns back home and takes the place of another soldier who was killed in battle.

The film was first exhibited at the"3rd Okinawa International Film Festival" back in March. �It was also presented at the "35th Montreal World Film Festival" in August.

The novel is scheduled for release on December 14th through Wani Books.
