In July, it was reported that Toda Erika and Kase Ryo would be reprising their highly loved roles as detectives chasing down offenders who possess special abilities through a movie ("SPEC~Ten") and a drama special ("SPEC~Sho"). Today, the SPEC team revealed that they've added actor Ito Atsushi and actress Asano Yuko to the movie's cast.

Reportedly, Ito will play an actor who has� the special ability (or 'SPEC') to fire countless spear-shaped objects from his body.

He commented, "I'm really happy. I enjoyed the drama a lot, so it feels like a dream that I myself actually got the chance to participate in the movie. The first and only thing I noticed when I read the script for the first time was that my name was used as the name of my character...� I was quite surprised when I realized that I'm really going to play 'Ito Atsushi'. [laughs]"

As for Asano, she was cast for the role of a mysterious Chinese woman called 'Madame Yan' who loves money.

The producers were gunning for her from the start, as they explained "She just looks great in a mandarin dress, plus she isn't afraid of playing any kind of role, no matter how silly it may be."

Asano immediately accepted the offer and commented, "I was so happy about the offer that I felt like I was flying high into the 'ten' (sky)."

With the addition of Ito and Asano, as well as Kuriyama Chiaki, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of "SPEC" the movie.

"SPEC~Ten" is slated for a release in Spring 2012, with the drama special airing sometime before the movie.
