It's been revealed that CHEMISTRY's Kawabata Kaname will be making his acting debut in the upcoming drama, "Hungry!".

Kawabata will play the drummer of Eisaku's (Mukai Osamu) rock band, who is also a staff member at his French restaurant.

Commenting on why he decided to cast Kawabata, Kansai TV producer Kasai Hideyuki said, "To make this as realistic as possible, we wanted to use a real artist to be a part of the band. When I first met Kawabata, he was very straightforward and passionate. I wanted to create a drummer with him." He continued, "His role is an aggressive and charming character. He fits the character perfectly."

In order to perfect his role, Kawabata bought a brand new drum set in late-October, and started training himself. He also attended cooking classes to perfect his knife skills during his spare moments from work.

Kawabata commented, "I've always had an interest in acting, so I was happy. I thought, 'Really?!'". He also promoted the drama by saying, "I want people to see the importance of companionship. It's also my first time on drums, so please look forward to it!"
