Popular idol group AKB48 will be starring in a new NTT Docomo CM for the first time in 6 years.

In the CM, Maeda Atsuko will work with her 14-year-old self. No, she isn't going back in time; the CM will just use past footage of Maeda as part of its production.

Maeda commented, "I'm surprised I haven't changed at all! Even now, I look like that without make-up."

The CM will also feature appearances by Oshima Yuko, Kashiwagi Yuki, Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Shinoda Mariko, and Takahashi Minami.

AKB48 first starred in a CM for NTT Docomo back in January 2006. The new CM, "6nen Mae no Watashi <Ouen>", will promote a cell phone discount service targeted for students older than grade school and their families. AKB48 was chosen to star in this CM because they suited the service's image, "to support young girls who chase after their dreams".

Takahashi expressed, "We still have a long way to go, but 6 years ago, we really had a long way to go. The members were all very young, so through this CM, we hope to show everyone our growth since then." She continued,�"2011 went by really fast, and we were able to fulfill many things. Without stopping, we want to walk forward with everyone, and hold energetic lives and concerts nationwide."

Meanwhile, Maeda shared her personal goals saying, "I want to be told that I'm beautiful. Not just cute, but I want to be told that I have become an adult."

AKB48's new song, "GIVE ME FIVE!", which will be be released on February 15th, has been picked up as the CM song.
