On January 25th, actor Oguri Shun continued his new-found tradition of wearing a kimono to PR events by appearing in another kimono for the premiere of his new movie, "Arakawa Under the Bridge THE MOVIE".

Oguri first wore the traditional Japanese outfit to a pre-screening event for "Kitsutsuki to Ame", where he explained, "I want to become someone that [would make] people say, 'He's always wearing a kimono at stage greetings'."

For this event, Oguri revealed that his outfit was inspired by the movie. "I imagined the 'Village Chief' and wore a 'kappa' (water imp) colored kimono," he said.

"Arakawa Under the Bridge THE MOVIE" is a film adaptation of Nakamura Hikaru's popular manga of the same title. It began its serializations in "Young Gangan" back in 2004, and in July of last year, it was turned into a live-action TV series on TBS. The story follows the life of 'Riku' (Hayashi Kento) and the unique residents of the Arakawa River.

Other attendees of the event included Kiritani Mirei, Yamada Takayuki, Shirota Yu, Abe Natsumi, Arisaka Kurume, Sueoka Takuto, Mashiko Raito, Inoue Waka, and director Iizuka Ken.

"Arakawa Under the Bridge THE MOVIE" will open in theaters on February 4th.
