On January 11th, "The 23rd Jewellery Best Wearer Award" held its ceremony at the Tokyo Big Sight in Odaiba, Japan.

The "Jewellery Best Wearer Award" is presented every year to celebrities, both male and female, who suited jewellery the most. The nine winners for this year's awards were: Takei Emi (teen division), AKB48's Oshima Yuko (20's), Yonekura Ryoko (30's), Dan Rei (40's), Yo Kimiko (50's), Asaoka Ruriko (over 60), and Sato Koichi (male). Additionally, the special award went to professional soccer player Honda Keisuke and Korean girl group Shoujo Jidai.

Takei expressed, "I have gained confidence by receiving this wonderful award. I want to continue being a woman who suits jewellery as I go into my 20's and 30's." Oshima, on the other hand, admitted that the award made her feel a little nervous. "I'm more nervous to stand on this stage than concerts for AKB. I need to shine just brightly as the beautiful jewellery."

Along with the award, each winner received a piece of jewellery, and Dan shared that her prize reminded her of her days in Takarazuka. As tears filled her eyes, Dan said, "I'm filled with gratitude. I want to polish myself so I won't lose to Takarazuka." Honda also commented, "I feel very honored to receive this award. I want to meet everyone's expectations by healing my injuries and bringing bright news to Japan."

The awards ceremony was held as a part of the international jewellery exposition, "The 23rd International Jewellery Tokyo". The exposition showcases jewellery from around the world, inviting over 1,350 jewellery makers and designers from 35 countries.
