On March 18th, it was revealed that rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel will be holding their first live concert at National Olympic Stadium on May 26th and 27th.

This will be a part of L'Arc~en~Ciel 's current world tour, "20th L'Anniversary Tour". For this tour, the band is scheduled to hit up 14 cities in 11 countries, for a total of 17 shows.

The National Olympic Stadium is located in Shinjuku City in Tokyo. In the past, only 3 artists have held one-man lives at this venue, SMAP, DREAMS COME TRUE, and Arashi. With this, L'Arc~en~Ciel will become the first band in history to perform at the stadium.

Within the two days, L'Arc~en~Ciel plans to draw in approximately 100,000 people to the venue. In total, the band will perform for over 450,000 fans for this tour.

The members of L'Arc~en~Ciel expressed their joy saying, "We are happy to be able to hold a live at the National Olympic Stadium, a sacred place with history."

After returning to Japan, L'Arc~en~Ciel will hold concerts at Nissan Stadium on May 12th and 13th, and at Universal Studios Japan on May 19th and 20th. According to sources, the tickets for these shows will be sold on the spot. Because of the great demand from fans, the band decided to add two more dates to the tour.

The stage set, track list, and other details on the concerts have not been revealed at this time. However, sources say, "Just like the concerts overseas, the concerts in Japan will be different for each of the 3 places."

Just the other day (March 17th), L'Arc~en~Ciel held their Taiwan concert, which turned out to be a big success. Their next stop is Madison Square Garden in New York on March 25th. They will become the first Japanese artist to hold a one-man live at this venue.

L'Arc~en~Ciel promised, "Through the world tour, please look forward to an even bigger L'Arc~en~Ciel in the middle of Tokyo."
