On March 19th, it was announced that rock band Merengue will be providing the theme song for the upcoming WOWOW drama 'Tsumi to Batsu A Falsified Romance', starring Kora Kengo.

The drama is a live-action adaptation of Ochiai Naoyuki's manga of the same title, which is based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's famous novel "Crime and Punishment" (1866).

Dostoyevsky's novel was adapted into modern-day Japan and tells the story of a hikikomori college student Tachi Miroku (Kora) with the ambition of becoming a writer, who schemes a plan to kill a female high school student who is managing a small school girl prostitution group. However, unforeseen circumstances drag him into a series of 'crime and punishments'.

The supporting cast includes Mizukawa Asami, Ito Ayumi, Horibe Keisuke, and more.

For Merengue this will be the fourth theme song after the drama 'Haruka 17' and the two movies "Kurai Tokoro de Machiawase" and "Saishu Heiki Kanojo" (also known as "Saikano: The Last Love Song on This Little Planet."). The song "Mabushii Asa" is a medium ballad in which the band tries to capture the deep story of the original.

A total of six episodes are planned for 'Tsumi to Batsu A Falsified Romance'. The first episode will air on April 29th.
