Actress/singer Shibasaki Kou's new song, "ANOTHER: WORLD", has been chosen as the theme song for Okada Masaki's upcoming drama, "Mirai Nikki -Another: World-"!

"Mirai Nikki -Another: World-" is based on a popular manga series of the same name that has sold a total of over 4 million copies. It's a suspense story that portrays a group of young people who are forced to participate in a survival game after obtaining a special diary. The drama also stars actress Gouriki Ayame as the heroine.

Fuji TV producer Fujino Ryota explained his reason for choosing Shibasaki to provide the theme song. "I gave Shibasaki-san the theme, 'Your future isn't something that is gifted from someone, it's something you obtain with your own power', and the worldview of the drama, and asked her to write the lyrics. I think it turned out to be a drama that will leave an imprint in the hearts of young people who are living in 2012."

Meanwhile, Shibasaki gave the appeal of her new song saying, "It's a powerful song that tells you 'not to give in to your weaknesses', but to 'live freely as yourself' without running from 'yourself'." The song is scheduled to be released sometime in June.

Shibasaki will start her first regular radio program, "nekou's life", on April 7th. Fans can expect to get a first listen to her new song through the show.

"Mirai Nikki -Another: World-" will air every Saturday from 11:10 pm starting in May.
