Hotei Tomoyasu to move to London to jumpstart international activities
On May 8, guitarist Hotei Tomoyasu (50) announced on his public blog that he will move to England this summer.
He explained, “I have lived to pursue my dream. And this year as I celebrated my 50th birthday, that dream still continues to cheer me up. That dream is to travel the world. I want to go to London, the birthplace of rock’n’roll to try everything.” It was also announced that on December 18, Hotei will give a solo performance at ROUND HOUSE in England, his first in 21 years, and that he will relocate to London as a starting point for his international activities.
His activities in Japan under his current record label and his wife's, singer Imai Miki (49), activities in Japan will continue until they move. It appears that Hotei will move to London after his special performance with an orchestra at the Kitanomaru Nippon Budokan in Tokyo on June 18 and 19.
In addition, it was announced that on May 18, Hotei will take on the challenge of a “personal day” radio broadcast with “Hotei Tomoyasu’s All Night Nippon GOLD” (starts 10 PM) on Nippon Broadcasting radio show All Night Nippon GOLD.
The program will focus on his thoughts and experiences that he has had since turning 50 that he wants to share with fans. Hotei commented, “This time, no matter what, I will speak my mind and give fans one night of All Night Nippon GOLD filled with (my) personality. As it has been a while since I have done a live broadcast, I am a bit nervous, but please listen to me live on the radio.”
