On May 22nd, Matsuura Aya made her first public appearance in nearly half a year to attend the funeral ceremony for Nagara Group's president Nagara Jun, who died in an accident while golfing in Hawaii earlier this month.

The singer revealed last August that she had been diagnosed with endometriosis, and withdrew from rigorous activities as an artist in order to focus on recovering from her illness. She has also closed�her Twitter account. Matsuura Aya's appearance at Nagara Jun's funeral is the first time she's been in the public eye since last November.

She stated sadly of the late Nagara,�"He told me that he would look over me and my partner when I got married."
