On May 26th, idol group Morning Musume made their first appearance in Japan's biggest fashion & music event, 'Girls Award 2012 SPRING/SUMMER'.

During this event, the girls performed their upcoming single, "One two Three", for the very first time. Former member Yaguchi Mari also made a guest appearance and�commented on their performance saying, "It was very cool!"

After Niigaki Risa graduated on May 18th at Morning Musume's Nippon Budokan concert, Michishige Sayumi was appointed as the new leader of the group. Michishige called out, "We will perform Morning Musume's 50th single 'One two Three' for the first time!" While showing a nervous expression, the girls mesmerized the crowd with their powerful performance.

Member Tanaka Reina reflected, "I was nervous. It was done in a blink of time, I had fun." Yaguchi also looked relieved as she said, "Morning Musume is evolving day by day. They'll become fresh, we can continue to support Morning Musume! They will do their best, so please take care of them!"

'Girls Award' is an event sponsored by Fuji TV and the Executive Committee that started back in May of 2010. Their 5th event featured a fashion show by over 100 popular talentos and models such as AKB48's Shinoda Mariko, Kiritani Mirei, Triendl Reina, Kinoshita Yukina, Serina, and Nanao.

The event also featured performances by jealkb, E-Girls, 3 Daime J Soul Brothers, and Kato Miliyah. It was hosted by Fuji TV's Matsumura Mio and Yamazaki Yuki. The guest MCs were singer JUNO and model Ebihara Yuri.
