"Sukitte Ii na yo" to get anime adaptation this fall

It was announced in the July issue of comic magazine “Dessert” (released on May 24th) that one of their serialized comics, “Sukitte Ii na yo”, will be adapted into an anime in the fall. This popular comic tells the story of Tachibana Mei who has spent her 16 years alone without any boyfriends or friends until she encounters Kurosawa Yamato, the most popular guy at her school.

Sato Takuya (Steins;Gate, Seitokai no Ichizon) will be directing this anime adaptation and Kuroyanagi Toshimasa (Inu x Boku SS, Ao no Exorcist) has been chosen as the scriptwriter of this series.

As for the voice actors, Kayano Ai will be voicing protagonist Tachibana Mei, Sakurai Takahiro as Kurosawa Yamato, Taneda Risa as Oikawa Asami, Shimazaki Obunaga as Nakanishi Takeshi, and Uchiyama Yumi as Muto Aiko.

In related news, “Sukitte Ii na yo” is a popular series that has sold a total of 3.1 million copies so far. It has also been adapted into a drama CD as well. Furthermore, the 9th volume of this series is set to hit bookstores throughout Japan on July 24th.
