allkpop

Idol group Tokyo Girls' Style revealed on May 20th that they would be holding a solo live at Nippon Budoukan on December 22nd.

The surprise announcement was made during the girls' live event at Hibiya Kokaido concert hall, causing member Yamabe Miyu to burst into tears with joy. "I don't know what to do. My head's all in a panic," she said, causing the approximately 3,000 fans who gathered at the event to give her a big cheer.

A video message from the idol group Momoiro Clover Z - who is said to be good friends with Tokyo Girls' Style - was played during the event regarding their upcoming live at Nippon Budoukan. "Congratulations," they said in their message, much to the delight of their fellow idol group. "We hope it'll be a success."

The idol group also announced during their event that the group will be taking a short, two-month break from all activities. "Being on hiatus is a time for us to level up," said leader Yamabe, while member Konishi Ayano called out to the crowd, "We're going to level up our performances and all of that, so we can show you a changed Tokyo Girls' Style. Please wait for us."

Tokyo Girls' Style will be releasing a new single titled "Kirari?" on October 5th. The group's music has been a hit with fans for mixing funk, fusion and dance music into their tunes, such as their singles "Limited addiction" (released in August 2011) and "Liar" (released in November 2011). The idols are scheduled to appear at the Akimoto Yasushi-produced event "The 1st Yubi Matsuri ~Idol Rinji Soukai~" on June 25th at Nippon Budoukan, but their live performance in December will be the first time the group performs all on their own at the venue.

Their performance on May 20th was the last stop of their nationwide tour "Tokyo Girls' Style 2nd JAPAN TOUR 2012 ~Limited addiction~", which started in April. The members were backed by a live band while they performed some of their hit songs, such as "Himawari to Hoshikuzu", "Onnaji Kimochi", "Limited addiction", "Kodou no Himitsu", and "Taisetsu na Kotoba".
