Watabe Atsuro appears at a special screening of his upcoming film 'Gaiji Keisatsu'
On May 21, four comedians including Matsumura Kunihiro (44) and Yamamoto Takahiro (37) appeared as “Imitation Watabe” at a special screening of 'Gaiji Keisatsu Sono Otoko ni Damasareruna' ('Black Dawn'), which stars actor Watabe Atsuro (44), at Yomiuri Hall in Yurakucho, Tokyo. The film is directed by Horikirizono Kentaro, and opens June 2.
The real Watabe sat at the back of the theater, and commented with a bitter smile on the commonness of the poor articulation of the four comedians imitating him. He stated, “[If it was me], you probably would not hear the [conversation] well. After seeing that and introspecting a bit myself, I'm practicing on my articulation now. Also, I stopped shaking my head.” Having said that, he expressed his happiness at being imitated stating, “I am extremely happy.”
