Kanjani8's 20th single, "Ai Deshita." (released June 13th), has sold 262,000 copies in its first week, topping Oricon's weekly single ranking for the week of June 25th! This marks Kanjani8's 7th consecutive single to top the Oricon charts since "Wonderful World!!" (June 2010); their 15th overall.

"Ai Deshita." is the theme song to member Nishikido Ryo's starring drama, 'Papadol!'. Compared with their previous single, "Tsubusa ni Koi" (released August 2011; 153,000 copies in its first week), it's sold over 100,000 copies. The last time Kanjani8's single sold over 250,000 units was back in August of 2008 with "LIFE ~Me no Mae no Mukou e~" (256,000 copies).

Kanjani8 is scheduled to hold their event, 'Fan Kansha CD Tokuten Free Event', on August 8th at Kyocera Dome in Osaka. They will invite a total of about 40,000 fans who purchase both "Ai Deshita." and their next single.
