On June 2nd, professional wrestler Sasaki Kensuke and talento Hokuto Akira held a press conference for NTV's '24-Hour Television'.
The couple will challenge the program's charity marathon with their sons Kennosuke (13) and Seinosuke (9). This will be the show's first family of 4 to run the marathon, and Seinosuke will also become the youngest runner. Hokuto commented, "I heard the news from my manager, and honestly, I thought it was a joke."
She continued, "I told him that I won't participate if one of the children said 'no'. When I talked to my eldest son, he immediately answered, 'I'll do it'. My second son said, 'I might not be able to run, but I'll do my best'. Upon my children's understanding, I decided to take part in it."
Meanwhile, Sasaki expressed, "The 4 of us will become 1, and we will run it together. I want to show that you can make it this far if you connect the love."
The marathon will be held in relay style. The running order and distance will be decided while observing each runners' physical strength.
This is NTV's 35th time broadcasting '24-Hour Television'. As reported earlier, this year's main personality will be Arashi.
The charity marathon has been held every year since 1992. In recent years, Edo Harumi (2008), Imoto Ayako (2009), Haruna Ai (2010), and Tokumitsu Kazuo (2011) have challenged this marathon.
