Popular singer Amuro Namie (34)'s 9thoriginalalbum "Uncontrolled" held the top position on the Oricon weekly Chart for three consecutive weeks. In 2008, her best-of album "BEST FICTION" topped the Oricon weekly charts for six straight weeks, but this is the first time her original album has achieved such a record. This is great news for Amuro who will be welcoming her 20th anniversary in the industry in September.
It's been 3 years and 9 months since the last female artist, Takeuchi Mariya, topped the weekly charts for three straight weeks with her best-of album, "Expressions", and 5 and a half years since Koda Kumi did the same with her original album, "Black Cherry".
"Uncontrolled" sold 292,000 copies in its first week, 79,000 copies in its 2nd week and 45,000 copies in its 3rd week this week. Total sales have reached 416,000 copies.
