On July 6th, actress Takei Emi attended the completion ceremony of her new drama "Iki mo Dekinai Natsu" with her co-star Eguchi Yousuke.

When asked if there was anything she wanted to tackle this summer, Takei answered brightly, "I have likes and dislikes regarding food, which was discovered during a PR event of a movie(Rurouni Kenshin) the other day. People have been telling me I have an unbalanced diet, so I'd like to get rid of my pickiness on food. I want to conquer cucumbers."

While recently promoting her upcoming movie "Rurouni Kenshin" with Sato Takeru and the rest of the cast, Takei let slip her unbalanced diet, and that she really hated cucumbers. "They're in so many things. They're even in hiyashichuuka, so it's really difficult to eat hiyashichuuka with getting rid of cucumber," she complained, which prompted Eguchi to respond in surprise, "You even hate cucumbers!?"

In her new 'societal romance' drama, Takei plays an 18-year-old girl who suddenly finds out one day that she is not part of a family registry. She then meets a 42-year-old man (Eguchi) with a wounded heart, and the two develop a 'forbidden love' despite the huge age gap between them.

"They have tons and tons of cake... I got to take home mont blanc and shortcake and chocolate cake and stuff, so I've been eating those. I wonder if my figure will be different by the end of the drama," she said jokingly, referring to her dream role as a bakery worker in her new drama.

The drama begins airing on July 10th, and will continue airing every Tuesday at 9:00 PM JST.
