On August 12, rock band Kai Band gave an outdoor live performance in Nara on the special stage set up in the Daikodo of Yakushi-ji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Vocalist Kai Yoshihiro (59) stated, We are Kai Band!, to which 3000 people cheered with enthusiasm. He followed this by declaring, As Yakushi-ji is the best location [to perform at], well give you the best performance! The band then gave a power-packed performance of their 20 songs including Anna and HERO~hero ni naru Toki, Sore wa Ima~, while the weight of 1300 years of history rippled through the fantasy-like atmosphere.
This was their first outdoor live in 29 years since they last held one in 1983, which pulled in 30,000 fans. Kai previously showed interest in performing at a UNESCO World Heritage Site and now, it has become a reality. During the encore performance of 100-man $ Night, laser beams flashed on stage and at the audience in the Daikodo.
Footage of their concert will be broadcast on August 30 on the NHKBS Premium channel.
