It's been announced that actress Kurashina Kana will be starring in a drama adaptation of popular manga "Hana no Zubora-Meshi". For Kurashina, who gained huge popularity through NHK's morning drama "Welkame", this will be the first time taking the lead role in a drama series for commercial broadcasting.
"Hana no Zubora-Meshi", which is written by Kusumi Masayuki and illustrated by Mizusawa Etsuko, was ranked as the No.1 manga on the guidebook "Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2012 Female edition" (Takarajima-sha). The manga is about the daily life of a 30-year-old new wife, Hana, who cooks "Zubora Meshi", while her husband is on a job transfer away from home. "Zubora-Meshi"is the corner-cutting and easy cooking people usually cook only for themselves to eat. Kurashina, who will play the protagonist Hana, commented, "I'm looking forward to see how I can express Hana-chan's pickiness and fineness in her [sloppiness]."
"Hana no Zubora-Meshi" will air starting on October 23rd on TBS, and on October 25th on MBS (total of 10 episodes).
