On September 11th, actor Matsuzaka Tori attended a pres-creening event for his upcoming movie, 'Tsunagu'.
As this marked his first sole lead in a movie, Matsuzaka expressed, "I became overwhelmed by the number of people who came thatI forgot what I had planned to say. I'm filled with feelings of happiness."
In the film, Matsuzaka acts as a "tsunagu" ("connect"), an intermediary who connects living people to the deceased. He said, "Through this film, I've grown to love people more, the time I spend with people has become intimate, and I've learned the importance of people."
He also shared that he gave a phone call to his parents right after the screening, "I'm able to say things like 'thank you' and 'take care' more naturally."
Kiki Kirin, who plays Matsuzaka's grandmother, called out to the crowd, "It's become a generation where people only believe in the world they see. So I hope you will be able to enjoy it by corresponding with the world you can't see."
Kiritani Mirei, Hashimoto Ai, Ono Ito, Endo Kenichi, and Yachigusa Kaoru also attended the event. 'Tsunagu' will open in theaters on October 6th.
