Techno-pop unit Perfume's latest album, "Perfume Global Compilation: LOVE THE WORLD" (released September 12th), has sold 118,000 copies in its first week, topping Oricon's weekly chart for September 24th.
This is Perfume's 4th consecutive album to top the Oricon charts. The previous record was set 12 years and 9 months ago by SPEED with "Carry On My Way" (released December of 1999) on January 3rd 2000.
"Perfume Global Compilation: LOVE THE WORLD" is mainly targeted at a foreign audience as the girls will be kicking off their first live tour in Asia next month. Aside classic numbers such as "Polyrhythm", "Laser Beam", and "love the world", the album includes remixes of "Chocolate Disco" and "MY COLOR" by Nakata Yasutaka.
