On October 20th, visual kei band DaizyStripper held a "free hug" event at Jingu-bashi in Harajuku, Tokyo.

When the members appeared at the scene, the crowd of 2,000 fans were put in a state of chaos. Several minutes after the event started, the staff received warning from the police and were told that they couldn't continue. However, they were successfully able to hold the event after transferring to Yoyogi Park.

The origin of this "free hug" event dates back to when the band'smini-album, "HUMALOID" (released August 1st), just missed the top 20 ranking of Oricon's weekly chart (24th in the 1st week). Their agency's president, ordered the members who were staying in Canada at the time, "I won'tallow you to return to Japan until youaccomplish 5,000 re-tweets."

As such, the members called out to their fans and were able to achieve 5,000 re-tweets the day before their original return date. To show their appreciation for the fans, they decided to hold a "free hug event".
