On September 29th, popular group FUNKY MONKEY BABYS held their first dome concert at Kyocera Dome in Osaka.
FUNKY MONKEY BABYS recently attracted 60,000 people to their 2-day concert at Yokohama Stadium on September 8th and 9th. On this day, 35,000 fans gathered at the dome, and leader Funky Kato called out, "Let's not only make this our biggest concert in history, but let's also make this a live with record-high excitement!"
FUNKY MONKEY BABYS' first stage in Osaka was back in 2005, before their debut with only 5 guests. Kato stated, "In Osaka, we started from minus, not even 0," and continued, "At the time of our debut, even if we had no guests in Tokyo, many people welcomed us with open arms in Osaka. I'm glad that we got to come to the dome."
During a 3.5 hour period, FUNKY MONKEY BABYS performed a total of 23 songs including "LIFE IS A PARTY" and "Ato Hitotsu". The group also prepared sub-stages and rode Segways across the stage so fans in the back rows could get a glimpse of the members. Kato expressed, "The power of 35,000 people became 1, and I'm filled with so much power that I have goosebumps."
Finally, FUNKY MONKEY BABYS announced that their new single (currently untitled) will be released on November 21st.
