Popular unit Ikimonogakari's first best-of ballad album "Balladon" (released on December 19th) sold 108,000 copies, and topped Oricon's weekly album chart for the week of December 31st. With this album, Ikimonogakari has topped the chart for 5 consecutive albums, beginning with their 3rd original album - "My song Your song" - which was released all the way back in December of 2008.
It's been 16 years and 5 months for a co-ed group with both male and female members to top the album chart for 5 consecutive times since Southern All Stars last�achieved it nearly two decades ago.
"Balladon" consists of 13 ballad songs including their debut single "SAKURA" and "Kaze wa Fuiteiru", which was the theme song for "NHK London 2012" broadcast.
