Katori Shingo (SMAP) and Yamashita Tomohisa's unit The MONSTERS' song "MONSTERS" (released on November 28th) sold 160,000 copies in its first week and grabbed the No.1 spot on Oricon weekly chart for the week of December 10th.

"MONSTERS" is being used as the theme song for the ongoing TBS drama "MONSTERS" that Katori and Yamashita star in.

It's been over 6 years for a drama-related unit to top the weekly chart since "Kisarazu Cat's Eye fear. MCU", which consists of the cast members of drama 'Kisarazu Cat's Eye; Okada Junichi (V6), Sakurai Sho (Arashi), Okada Yoshinori, Sato Ryuta, Tsukamoto Takashi, and MCU of KICK THE CAN CREW) last achieved it with "Seaside Bye Bye" in 2006.

"MONSTERS" was written and composed by Katori and Yamashita together, and it was also included in SMAP's 20th original album "GIFT of SMAP" (released in August) before it was released as a single CD.
