On December 19, actress Takei Emi appeared at the commemorative stage greeting event held at TOHO Cinemas Shibuya (in Shibuya, Tokyo) for the film Kyo, Koi wo Hajimemasu (directed by Furusawa Ken.) At the same time, actor Matsuzaka Tori appeared at the Osaka stage greeting event for the film at TOHO Cinemas Umeda (in Kita, Osaka). The events were relayed through a large screen on site at each event and as Christmas time is near, the pair exchanged presents. Takei gifted Matsuzaka with a home planetarium, which appears in the film, and asked, Next year and the year after next, shall I give the new (planetarium) film? Matsuzaka was all smiles as he replied with, I look forward to it.
In return, Matsuzaka gifted Takei with a white polar bear stuffed animal that measured around 1 meter tall, which her character Hibino Tsubaki favors in the film. Takei was elated as she stated, Its gigantic! I wonder if it will be able to sit on the sofa. It might not fitI will put it in the entryway so that it will always say I will see you later. Moreover, when Takei was asked about Matsuzaka, she stated, He is truly a great person. He is also good looking. She followed with PR for the film, [The film] could not have been done this well with just one person; with (Matsuzaka), I think we were able to make a wonderful movie.
The film is based off of Minami Kanans high school girls love bible shojo manga of the same name; it focuses on the love story between a plain high school girl Hibino Tsubaki (played by Takei) and a playboy at her school named Tsubaki Kyouta (played by Matsuzaka). This is the third time the pair has costarred together; in 2010, they costarred in the drama GOLD (Fuji TV); in 2011, they costarred in the drama Asuko March (TV Asahi.)
