On March 28, 10 members of Sakae, Nagoya-based idol group SKE48 were commissioned as Aichi prefecture crime prevention and traffic safety PR ambassadors by police Superintendent Okita Yoshiki.� They will be active in their roles as ambassadors for one year, which begins in April and ends in March of 2014.
Aside from appearing at crime prevention events, they will appear in videos that cover topics including cyber crime prevention and theft prevention.� Their first event, the Aichi Prefectural Office�s Spring Nationwide Traffic Safety Event, will be on April 5.
The 10 members that appeared at the commissioning wore brown jackets and checked skirts; they appeared nervous.� Member Mukaida Manatsu (16) stated, �In order to live with a peace of mind in a safe Aichi, we would like to combine all of our strengths [to attain this goal.]�
