Yoshida Akimi's manga "Umimachi Diary" wins the "Manga Taisho 2013"

"Umimachi Diary" is set in an ancient city, Kamakura, and it tells a story of a family's loss and restoration. It is being serialized on Monthly flowers (Shogakukan) irregularly.
The "Manga Taisho" is an annual Manga award which chooses a manga that individuals would recommend to others, and this is the sixth year it has been held. The award is getting recognized more and more every year, as many of the winners from the previous years have been adapted into live-action movies or TV animes.
