FUNKY MONKEY BABYS wrap up their last nationwide tour
On March 31st, popular group FUNKY MONKEY BABYS wrapped up their last nationwide tour at Saitama Super Arena.
The night before, there was a 20 minute interruption after sound absorbing material made out of sponge fell from the upper seat of the 2nd floor of the venue. On this day however, the concert was held as planned after repairs and safety checks were completed.
Saitama Super Arena was the last stop to the group's 11 stop, 21 show nationwide tour. Leader Funky Kato expressed, "Funmon isn't for just us 3 members. It's complete because of each and every babys (fans) nationwide." They performed a total of 23 songs such as "Ato Hitotsu" and "Arigatou" for 20,000 fans.
FUNKY MONKEY BABYS will be disbanding after their Tokyo Dome concerts on June 1st and 2nd. Kato called out to the crowd, "Please keep the existence of this 3-member group from Hachiouji in the corner of your minds. This isn't goodbye. We won't say goodbye. Thank you!"
