CHEMISTRY's Kawabata Kaname announced on the official fanclub site that he has filed for divorce with his wife, model, Takahashi Miki.

The two began dating after co-starring in the music video for CHEMISTRY's single "This Night" (released in August 2007), and married in March of 2008. They had a daughter in September of the same year.

Kawabata wrote, "After discussing it over for a long period of time, we decided that it would be best for our future to proceed with a divorce. In order to take responsibility, not as a married couple, but as parents (father and mother), we will continue�cooperating�with each other." He continued, "Believing my potential as an artist, I will continue devoting myself to music activities."
