On May 10, young actress Hashimoto Ai was among the attendees of the '4th Nippon Theater Staff Film Festival in Seijo' and was showered with questions related to the recent reports of her alleged relationship with actor Ochiai Motoki.
Hashimoto attended the festival to receive the "Best Supporting Actress" award for her performance in the movie 'Kirishima, Bukatsu Yamerutteyo' (International title: 'The Kirishima Thing'). Ochiai also appeared in this movie and reports say that the two have developed a romantic relationship.
The actress remained silent about this topic throughout the event, but the reporters kept on asking questions related to this topic. In one case, a reporter asked if she enjoyed her date. Veteran actress Kiki Kirin noticed her discomfort and stepped in to act as if the question was directed towards her. "I've enjoyed it indeed", she told the reporters.
Her timely help stunned the reporters who from then on refrained from bringing up this topic again.
Hashimoto herself was more joyful again when she received the award and commented, "I'm happy that I'm receiving an award at a film festival that is all about the love for movies. My generation isn't as emotionally attached to movies anymore, but I want to continue contributing as a 'part' to the movie industry throughout the future, so that people will continue to love movies forever."
