It was reported that veteran voice actor Utsumi Kenji passed away at the age of 75 due to carcinomatous peritonitis.

According to Kenproduction company which Utsumi served as the chairman, he passed away on June 13 at 3:01 pm (JST) at a hospital in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Though the details on a funeral and memorial ceremony have not been decided at this moment, the chief mourner will be served by his wife Nomura Michiko, who's also a voice actress.

As an anime voice actor, Utsumi made his debut with "Ookami Shounen Ken" (as "one-eyed Jack") back in 1963. Since then, he had lent his voice for animes like "Mahou Tsukai Sally", "Dr. Slump Arale-chan", "Hokuto no Ken", and many more.

Not only in anime, Utsumi was also known for dubbing many foreign movies, as well as for his narration in many TV shows and CMs.

Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.
