This is Tokyohive's regular Drama Prime Time Report giving you a detailed look at the prime time ratings with a focus on the weekly dramas.
Fuji TV's Monday drama 'Umi no Ue no Shinryojo' lost a couple of viewers with its 2nd episode, which is no big surprise really (rating: 12.4%; -3.2). The same goes for their Tuesday drama 'Miss Pilot' (image above) that also aired its 2nd episode (rating: 12.4%; -2.6). Meanwhile, 'Glass no Ie' (NHK) approaches the double-digits with another slight increase of viewers (rating: 09.7%; +1.2).
On Wednesday, 'Aibou Season 12' (TV Asahi) had to hand over some viewers to the competition, but it still achieved a great rating for its 2nd episode (rating: 17.0%; -2.7). On the same day, 'Legal High 2' (Fuji TV) already aired its 3rd episode and actually managed to reclaim a couple of viewers it lost after the 1st episode (rating: 18.5%; +1.7).
The drama dominance of TV Asahi on Thursday continued with an improved 'Kasoken no Onna 13' (rating: 13.7%; +1.0) and 'Doctor-X 2' (rating: 23.1%; +0.3). The latter completely swallowed the new TBS drama 'Otto no Kanojo' - starring Kawaguchi Haruna and Suzuki Sawa - that didn't get off the starting blocks well at all.
'Otto no Kanojo' achieved a disastrous rating of 4.7%, which is the lowest start of a prime time drama (excluding NHK) ever. Fuji TV is known for having produced the biggest flop of recent years with 'Kazoku no Uta' (starring Odagiri Joe; average rating: 3.9%) that was eventually cut down from 11 to 8 episodes, but even that drama recorded a higher rating of 6.1% for its 1st episode. Up until now, the title for the worst start of a prime time drama used to belong to 'Koizora' (TBS; starring Mizusawa Erena) with 5.6% back in 2008. At least it can almost only get better from now on.
