Popular group SMAP's 51st single "Shareotsu / Hello" (released on December 18) sold 208,000 copies during the first week, and they grabbed the number one spot on Oricon's latest weekly chart.
This marks the group's 18th consecutive chart-topping single (29th in total).
Also, they have renewed their own record of "the number of consecutive singles ranked in TOP10 since debut" to 51 singles.
One of the title track for the single "Shareotsu" was used as the theme song for Fuji TV drama "Dokushin Kizoku" that starred a member Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, and other title track "Hello" was made as Hello Kitty's 40th anniversary official song.
