SMAP's Nakai Masahiro (41) will be the main newscaster for TBS's coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi that will begin on February 7. This is the 6th time that Nakai will be the newscaster for the Olympics since his first at the Athens Olympics in 2004. 

Reportedly, Nakai will be visiting Sochi, and is planning to do interviews for men's snowboard slopestyle and more on February 8. Upon his return, Nakai will be sharing his excitement and thoughts in the studio. 

He commented that, "The hottest winter once every four years is coming. I hope Japan will come together as one and support our athletes so that they can perform at their best."
