On April 13th, SKE48's Matsui Rena held a release event for her photo book 'Hemelet' at Fukuya Bookstore in Shinjuku Subnade.
Matsui's first photo book 'Kingyo' was released about 2 years ago. For her second photo book, Matsui was involved from the initial planning stages and actively suggested ideas. "I did what I wanted to. It's a book filled with self-satisfaction," she said confidently.
When she was a child, Matsui loved to tear shoji paper during house cleaning. As such, she challenged herself to "shoji tearing" during the shoot for the photo book. "When you're a child, it feels good to do something that you're told not to do," she said with a smile.
On the wrapper for her last photo book 'Kingyo', there was a comment by producer Akimoto Yasushi which said, "From a kingyo (goldfish), what are you planning on transforming into?" When asked what she's changed into, Matsui replied, "I think I changed into a mischievous child."
