Singer Nishino Kana (25) recently performed at the largest music event in Asia, the "China Music Award" at the Cotai Arena in Macau.
Because the "Kana" in her name is usually spelled in katakana, which is not found in the Chinese language, she had her name written with Chinese characters that have the same reading in Japanese. In Chinese, however, the pronunciation sounds like "Ja Nai".
Nishino also attended the red carpet before the event, arriving at the venue in a black limousine, clad in a white long dress. As she walked along, local fans cheered her on with calls of "Ja nai!" and "kawaii!" while the singer responded with smiles and waves.
