It was announced that Studio Ghibli's film 'Kaguya-hime no Monogatari ('The Tale of the Princess Kaguya')', directed by Takahata Isao, has been nominated in the Best Animated Feature Film category for the 87th annual Academy Awards.
As Miyazaki Hayao's 'Kazetachinu ('The Wind Rises')' was also nominated last year, this marks the second consecutive year for a Japanese film to be nominated in this category.
'Kaguya-hime no Monogatari' is the Takahata Iso's first film in 14 years and it was released in the U.S. back in October of 2014.
