Funky Kato has announced the birth of his first child, a baby boy.

On May 13, Funky Kato updated his official blog and revealed that he had welcomed his son in mid-February. He reported on the status of his child, "He is very healthy." 

Funky Kato was able to witness the birth of his son. "I was able to see the miracle of the birth of life before my own eyes. I am overflowing with feelings of gratitude," he commented. Finally, he said, "I want to have a sense of responsibility more than ever. I want to continue to pour passion into music like before. I will do my best so I can show everyone that I've matured. Aim to be a funky father!!" 

Kato married FUNKY MONKEY BABYS' former manager in April of 2013.
