R&B vocalist Shimizu Shota has announced the release of his third album, “COLORS,” on March 9th.

The album will include his hit singles such as “GOODBYE,” “Kimi ga Kurasu Machi,” and “YOU&I.”  It will also include covers such as the Ozaki Yutaka song “Forget-me-not” and his track from the “m-flo TRIBUTE ~maison de m-flo~” album, “let go.”  It will even feature his collaborative song with American R&B singer JOE, “Be With You duet with JOE,” for a total of fifteen tracks.

The album will be released in the standard CD regular and first print limited editions.  The limited edition will come with a DVD that features PVs for “Sakura,” “GOODBYE,” “Kimi ga Kurasu Machi,” and “YOU&I.”  It will also have a video clip of Shimizu Shota working with a New York pianist on “YOU&I,” footage from the documentary he was creating.

Right before the album launches in March, on February 23rd, he will be releasing the “Forget-me-not” cover on Chaku-Uta for digital download.  Shimuzu Shota will also be starting his nationwide “COLORS TOUR 2011” in June.

For the past few months, rock group UVERworld has been taking a well deserved break, but the band has just announced their first release of 2011; a currently untitled single due out on March 9th.

Although no track information has been revealed yet, the single will mark an important step in the band’s career.  Not only is it the first single the group has released in several months, it is also their first single since they performed on the world famous Tokyo Dome stage.  Already this promises a big step forward for UVERworld’s music, making this a very important single.

It will be released in the standard CD regular and first print limited versions.  The first print will come with a special DVD feature that is tentatively titled, “Kongo no UVERworld.”

Actress-turned-singer Kitano Kii has announced that she will be releasing her first album, as of now untitled, on March 23rd.

Her debut album will compile all the singles she has released to this point, including “Sakura Saku,” “Hanataba,” and “Kizuna.”  The album will be available in limited edition first print versions as well as CD regular.  The limited editions will come with a DVD that includes video clips and live footage, plus a forty page photo book.

Also, coming up on March 2nd  is the release of Kitano’s third single, “Kizuna.”  Fans can pick up a special edition of the single at mu-mo stores.  For this mu-mo exclusive, Kitano Kii will debut a song for which she personally wrote the lyrics, and along with the sale of the single, she will include a poetry reading.

Rock group GOING UNDER GROUND has announced that they will be releasing their new album “Inagawa-kun” on April 6th.

Around two years have passed since the release of their last album, “LUCKY STAR.”  “Inagawa-kun” will collect their singles since that release, including “LISTEN TO THE STEREO!!” and “LONG WAY TO GO” for a total of ten tracks.  The album also marks the ten year anniversary of the bands major label debut, so many are anticipating a polished release.

Currently GOING UNDER GROUND is preparing for their nationwide tour, “10th Anniversary Tour 2011 Rollin’ Rollin’, “  which will kick off on February 5th.  Popular demand has already swayed the group to add an additional performance to the tour at the Tokyo Hibiya Outdoor Music Hall on May 4th.  Tickets for the added performance will go on sale March 26th.

The guest lineup for the February 6th episode of NHK’s “MUSIC JAPAN” have been announced.  This time around the performers will be jealkb, SCANDAL, s/mileage, Tohoshinki, and Yuzu, for a total of five artists.

Tohoshinki fans will be happy to see Changmin and Yunho return to the show after a long absence.  There will also be a studio live talk corner as well as Sekine Mari and Perfume darts game.  This will also be the first time in about six months that jealkb has appeared on the program.  They will be there to support their new album, “Invade,” which is due out on February 9th.

Hip-hop duo HALCALI will be dropping their new mini album “TOKYO CONNECTION” on February 9th and recently they’ve announced that they will be holding a special in-store event at the Shibuya Tower Records for the album on February 13th.

The event will take place the day before Valentine’s Day.  HALCALI will focus on performing their newly recorded songs from the mini album as well as a variety of love songs that are appropriate given the holiday.  Tickets to the event will be given out on a first come, first served, basis for fans who buy the album at Tower Records.  More details will go up on the HALCALI official site.

Punk band DOPING PANDA recently announced their return to the music scene with a new album, “YELLOW FUNK.”  Now the band has revealed that they will also be starting a nationwide tour, called “YELLOW FUNK TOUR 2011“, in April to help promote the release.

This tour will be the first nationwide tour in about two years for the band.  The new album was the defining reason why they decided to tour again, and fans can expect the performances to be of fresh songs off “YELLOW FUNK.”

Currently the tour is scheduled to open up on April 15th at the Ibaraki mito LIGHT HOUSE and go until June 12th at the Zepp Tokyo, and there will be a total of twelve performances across Japan.  DOPING PANDA’s official site will open up presales for tickets on February 4th.

Pop duo DREAMS COME TRUE have announced that they will be holding a special summer tour called, “Shijyou Saikyou no Idou Yuenchi DREAMS COME TRUE WONDERLAND 2011.”

The tour will kick off in Hokkaido at the Sapporo Dome on July 24th, and from there it will move on to Fukuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, and Okinawa.  They have scheduled a total of 11 performances, all in large-scale performance venues to be able to meet the demand for tickets.

To make things especially fun for the fans, DREAMS COME TRUE will have a special site set up during the “WONDERLAND 2011″ tour.  It will allow fans to request the songs they want to hear live at the different concert stops.  Fans will be able to monitor the changes in the rankings as the vote continues onwards.

Hip-hop duo Hilcrhyme has announced that they will be releasing their first ever video clip collection, “Hilcrhyme Theater vol. 1“, on February 23rd.

The DVD will feature the PVs for such songs as “Shunkashuutou” and “Daijoubu“, as well as other videos for their singles.  Also included will be the previously unreleased video for “Shampoo” from their new album, “MESSAGE“, and also a bonus clip titled, “No. 109-Show Case Edit-.”

Hilchryme’s DVD collection will come out on the same day as their upcoming single, “Okubyouna Ookami.”  The limited first press edition of the single will come in a special paper jacket, and the duo has updated their home page so that a video clip for the new single is on display for fans to preview.

On February 23rd, dance / rock band BOOM BOOM SATELLITES will release their live CD + DVD collection “EXPERIENCED,” and recently they’ve revealed the full track list for the compilation.

The live audio and video was taken from the nationwide tour BOOM BOOM SATELLITES conducted last fall, “JAPAN TOUR 2010 2nd STAGE.”  For the release, the band recorded their tour stop in Chiba at the Makuhari Event Hall on October 2nd.  BOOM BOOM SATELLITES picked out representative tracks from the live, packaging ten songs on the CD and twelve on the DVD.

BOOM BOOM SATELLITES have unique performances in that they’re the sole sound source for all of the music.  Between the two members, they record all the instrumental parts as well as finish the mixing and mastering of the music.  This CD + DVD collection is just another example of their love and commitment to their craft and will surely appeal to fans.
