    The individual artist ratings for the "61st Kohaku Uta Gassen" was revealed on January 4th, and it was discovered that SMAP were the performers who pulled in the highest ratings among all artists during Kohaku.   • Nishikawa Takanori diagnosed with acute inflammation of vocal cords

    On January 4th, Nishikawa Takanori (a.k.a T.M. Revolution) revealed through his official Twitter that he was diagnosed with an acute inflammation of the vocal cords. Nishikawa's tweet read, "I have bad news...I overworked my throat during the end of the year and during the New Year...I feel quite wretched as a professional singer...".   • AKB48's Oshima Yuko enjoys snowboarding for New Year's holiday

    AKB48 member, Ohshima Yuko revealed how she spent her New Year's holiday on her blog.  According to Yuko, the Ohshima family goes snowboarding and hot springs every year for the New Year's holiday.  Yuko confessed that she hurt her butt, so she needed to heal it in the hot springs.
