MPPAJ announces 2010 box office rankings

The Motion Pictures Production Association of Japan (MPPAJ) has announced the list of the highest grossing films of 2010.

Every year in January, the list is announced, and this year, the announcement took place on January 27th at the Courtyard Marriott Ginza Toushiki Hotel.

The list separates domestic releases and foreign films into different categories.

“Akunin” to enter Montreal World Film Festival

Upcoming movie “Akunin“, in which Tsumabuki Satoshi and Fukatsu Eri star, will enter the world competition of the Montreal World Film Festival.

The premier showing of the movie will be held on September 5th in Canada, and cast members are planning to be in attendance.

The movie is scheduled for release in Japan on September 11th.
